An employee satisfaction survey (ESS) is not required by law in the Netherlands. There is no law that requires organizations to measure employee satisfaction periodically. However, it is highly recommended. After all, employers do have a duty of care: they must ensure a safe and healthy work environment and pay attention to the well-being of employees.
